"Adventures in Archival Digitization" started off as a class assignment for LIS 557, where I thought it might be fun to share what I've picked up as a Digital Archive Specialist. That was back in Fall 2023, and since then, I've turned this blog into a little journal to jot down my experiences from Documentary Preservation LIS 649 during the Summer 2024 semester. Honestly, what began as a school project has turned out to be a pretty handy spot for me to document my journey through another class.
So, guess what? I’m planning to keep the momentum going! Even though I'm getting close to wrapping up my MLIS journey, I'm excited to use this blog for a couple of (big!) upcoming courses:
LIS 648: Archival Practicum (Spring 2025)
I'll need a place to share my experiences during my archive practicum, with weekly entries.
LIS 580: British Studies in Librarianship (Summer 2025)
Next summer, I'll be diving into the British Studies program with USM, and I’ll be chronicling my adventures here.
So, what’s the deal? While the blog will still cover similar topics, I’m giving it a bit of a makeover. New name, same journey! Instead of just being a class assignment blog, this will now be my space to share all the fun learning experiences I have throughout my MLIS degree. And with that, let’s welcome "Dust, Data, & Discovery" into the world!
