First day of help from the volunteers! I started the day by finishing the alphabetization of the rest of the unprocessed boxes; I found that there is a total of about 2047 patient files! And today, we hit a total of 783 processed, so that means there are still over 1200 left to process (about 38% done)! Hopefully, with volunteer help, we can get these done before the end of June!!

With that said, one volunteer assisted me today in the afternoon for a few hours. As we were processing, however, we ran out of letter-sized folders, which meant that in order to finish the box we were working on, I needed to cut the legal-sized folders for them to fit. After we finished that box, I switched the next box to be legal size (rotated which side is the front of the box), but that means that fewer folders will fit now, and figuring linear feet for the finding aid will be more complicated.

Stats:

  • Files processed: GRAFF - HANLON, 73 folders (783 total folders processed)

  • Hours: 8hrs (112 total hrs)
