My most productive day yet! I processed 70 patient files today, which is about double what I had been doing before. I'm now on box 5 and am almost done processing the B's.

As I work through the folders I quickly glance through each page to ensure that the document belongs in the patient file I am currently working on, and it finally paid off today! I found a document for a different patient with the same last name in the wrong folder. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't seen this yet, but still, I'm glad I've been double-checking.

An interesting tidbit I found while processing was two generations of printers at the home. The father son duo (Senior and Junior, even) were at the home at seperate times. Senior was a patient at the home in 1937 and was admitted again in 1950 (and passed away at the home) while Junior was a patient at the home in 1945.

I don't have a photo for today, so here is a photo of the work table used by the archivist, the volunteers, and myself that I took on my first day.

Stats:

  • Files processed: BLAKELY - BROWNE, 70 folders (220 total folders processed)

  • Hours: 8hrs (48 total hrs)
