On our final Tuesday, we went for a walking tour of the Barbican. We had previously visited the Barbican briefly during the Bedlam walking tour, but this tour was focused solely on the history and architecture of the Barbican. At first, when I first saw the Barbican, I liked some of the architecture choices and the use of greenery and water. But admittedly, after seeing more and more of the space during this walking tour, I started to dislike it the more I saw. So, really, I am on the fence about brutalist architecture. I think in some ways it can look nice, and in others it looks like the worst part of the 80s. After the tour, I stopped into the public library and I loved just how large it was and the amount of space dedicated to music!
