Cambridge was our third and final day trip outside of London, and overall, it was my favorite excursion! I didn't expect that I would find the Cambridge Library more enjoyable than Oxford, but I did (and that's a really high bar to pass since I loved the Bodleian visit!!).

The tour of the Cambridge Library was one of my favorites, if not my top favorite, for a few different reasons. We were given a full tour of the workspace and stacks (which are open!!), and the tour was given by a member of staff and not a special tour guide. At work, we do the same for tours; any of us comfortable with giving tours can give them, we don't have a person who handles all tours. This meant that the tour might not have been as clean or curated, but instead, it was more real. I also really enjoyed that this copyright library is an open-stack system that allows materials to be checked out, which is so different from the British Library.

I also have to mention the lovely punting tour we did of Cambridge in the afternoon, which was such a nice way to finish the day!
