Day 6: Bath

Today was our first excursion outside of London as a class (not including the optional day-trip to Stonehenge and Salisbury). Bath felt like a town outside of England; it felt like we had taken a trip to another European country, somewhere on the coast. The entire vibe of this city was just so different than what I had seen up to this point in the UK, and a large part of that was the Roman influence on the architecture. Our walking tour was a nice way to get to see various parts of the town; however, as someone who has never seen (or even heard of) Bridgerton, a lot of the references made during the tour went over my head, but that's okay, because apparently, I live under a rock.

During the tour, our guide mentioned that anyone could drink the water from the pump, and since I was a bit bummed that we wouldn't be able to see the inside of the baths, I jumped at the opportunity to experience a little more. It was a bit of a hassle to get to the drinking fountain, but the staff allowed a small group of us to go into the dining area of the restaurant to get a sip of the water. It was warm and tasted metallic, like the natural spring water back home. While we were there, I snapped a quick shot of the baths.

Not bad for a sneaky pic, huh? The drinking fountain is in the round room to the left.
